Learning Hubs for Primary Schools

What are Learning Hubs?

“A learning community is an intentionally developed community that exists to promote and maximise the individual and shared learning of its members.  There is ongoing interaction, interplay, and collaboration among the community's members as they strive for specified common learning goals.”

Oscar, T.L, Denise M.H., Kevin P.S, Alisho S. & Andria S. (2013). Powerful Learning Communities A Guide to Developing Student, Faculty, and Professional Learning Communities to Improve Student Success and Organizational Effectiveness. New York. Routledge.

Our Aims

Learning Hubs is one of the school support services offered by the Advisory Teaching Team (ATT) of the NET Section. It aims to:

  • create physical and virtual learning spaces for primary English teachers;
  • explore innovative learning and teaching practices to support the evolving needs of learners; and
  • promote effective instructional strategies in support of the latest English Language Education curriculum initiatives.
