Story to Stage Puppetry Competition for Primary School 2023/24 Winners
The Story to Stage Puppetry Competition for Primary School 2023/24, conducted through video submissions, concluded this year. A total of 124 schools, comprising 139 performances, participated in this engaging and educational activity organised by the NET Section’s Puppetry Team. The process commenced with teachers attending a centralised professional development workshop, followed by a cluster meeting to share ideas and good practices to implement in their schools. These ideas were then utilised with their performing teams of 3-5 students in Key Stage 2. After devising innovative stories, the teams proceeded to work on the puppet design, props and backdrops, followed by ongoing training and rehearsals. Finally, the puppet shows were recorded and submitted to the NET Section for the competition.
The schools that won the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Merit Prizes will be invited to attend the Prize-giving Event scheduled for June 2024. Additionally, the 1st Prize winner of each session will be invited to participate in the Story to Stage Championship of Hong Kong, where students will showcase their talents and creativity in person and compete for the overall champion title. Invitation letters for the respective events will be sent to the Principals of the schools involved. For the remaining schools which participated in the competition, Certificates of Appreciation will be sent to the English Panel Chairs by September 2024.
The results of the Outstanding Presentation of the Theme of Love Award will be announced by mid-July 2024. The winning schools will receive an invitation to the Award Presentation Ceremony for the SOW Campaign 2023/24, which will take place in October 2024.
