Overview
The Space Town Literacy Programme for KS1 (Space Town) is an enhanced version of the Primary Literacy Programme - Reading and Writing (PLP-R/W). It includes additional aspects such as e-learning, self-directed learning and a self-evaluation tool for schools. The teaching of reading has been enhanced through the earlier introduction of guided reading and phonics strategies such as blending and encoding in P1.
Space Town provides students with the opportunity to develop the ability to transfer their knowledge to new situations. In this programme, communicative language learning is the main focus, where the four skills are taught interactively and real-life situations are experienced in the classroom.
