20th Anniversary Conference of the ENET Scheme in Secondary Schools
The 20th Anniversary Conference of the Enhanced Native-speaking English Teacher (ENET) Scheme in Secondary Schools, with the theme of “Collaborate, Innovate, Create: Celebrating the Past, Awakening Possibilities”, was successfully held on 23 June 2018 at Queen’s College.
It was certainly a day to remember, as not even the intermittent heavy downpours could dampen the spirit and enthusiasm of the conference participants, including NETs, local English teachers, school principals, academics and EDB officers, who made the most of this opportunity to catch up with their peers socially, intellectually and professionally.
The theme of the Conference was echoed throughout the day in the thought-provoking keynote speeches and parallel sessions that covered a diverse range of themes, exciting student performances that showcased their English proficiency, talents, creativity and sensitivity to their social and learning environments, hilarious interviews with the long-serving NETs and heart-warming personal stories shared by the special guests.
