Videos of presentations about the Makerspace Seed project

Date2021-12-21

Since the launch of the Seed project in the 2019/20 s.y., the project team has been actively promoting the application of the maker mindset and design thinking to enrich English language learning.  The project team has also made the most of the opportunities available to disseminate the project experience to the wider education community.  The videos available here are a record of our professional dialogue with educators  and stakeholders who take an interest in the Maker concept.

As a partner of the PolyU Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation (JCDISI), the project team was invited to take part in a symposium “One from Hundred Thousand” : Co-prototyping Future Classroom: Social Innovation and Design Thinking for 21st Century Learning on 3 July 2021. During the symposium, the project team gave a presentation on the student-centred elements of the project and exchanged views and ideas with teachers and students who had experienced design thinking first-hand in their professional and learning journey respectively.

Members of the project teams and a project teachers also participated in the most recent 21st Century Learning Online Conference (December 2021) to share their learning from the project.  The focuses of their presentations range from professional growth and school-based planning to project implementation strategies and challenges.
