"Science on Stage" Drama Competition

‘Science on Stage’ is a drama competition. It is not improvised drama. Students will work in teams of 4 – 6 to create and perform an English drama of 4 – 6 minutes with a science element. The theme for this year is ‘Quirky Science’, e.g. ‘Quirky Science: 25 Ways to Light a Match’. The meaning of quirky is unusual but interesting.

Aims

The aims of the ‘Science on Stage’ competition are to:

  • promote cross-curricular collaboration between Science and English panels;
  • explore science in an English drama context;
  • promote students’ interest in science through communicating science ideas; and • present science in a creative way, supported by multimedia technology.
